My Pilates Story
I started practicing Pilates in the 1990s. I was drawn to it because I felt welcome in the classes I took and could participate at my own pace. I was a klutz (still am), not athletic (still not), and not flexible at all (I can touch my toes on most days). Through Pilates, I learn about my own body, how I move, and how to improve my posture. I learn what’s causing my aches and pains and how to ease them through Pilates exercises and stretches. I decided to become an instructor when I thought about what I wanted to do that brings me joy. Through life challenges, I have always made room for Pilates and I wanted to share my love for it.
I am a STOTT PILATES® certified instructor, a Total Barre® Qualified Instructor, and certified to teach barre by Beyond Fitness Pilates Studio. I am also a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
My Teaching Approach
I believe everyone can do Pilates. I love helping clients discover what they can do and how to move efficiently. I love watching clients become stronger, more flexible, and more confident in their own bodies.
My sessions are fun and educational. Clients have described my style as traditional with a twist.
Together, we explore what works for you. Each session is personalized to your needs and what you want to focus on that day.
